Awards, Lamaze, Pelvic Station oh my!

Finished off the day with accepting the Best First Year Employee award at my company for the year 2008 which was awesome. I'm always humbled and appreciative of this type of recognition. If I didn't love my job and the people I take care of, I would never see stuff like that. It's truly a blessing. Oddly enough, Karene decided we should meet at my favorite place to eat but never get to go....EVER....Chevys! It was a good second award so I celebrated with a tasty cadillac margarita. After that we took part in our first of 5 lamaze classes. It was pretty informative and fun. Learned about anatomy, dialation, effacement, and pelvic station.

I am gettin back on the guitar practice tonight after two late nights of working and other activities.

Quick break for a minor emergency

Had to break from the guitar practice last night to do a quick hospital visit for Karene to examine some dizziness she was having. Not to worry though. All is well after the visit with the doc. Wife and baby Daniel are doing just fine. Got a lamaze class tonight so I might sneak out to the garage for some chord practice before bed.

Good progress so far

Not bad for a first night of practice. Didn't quite get a full hour in but it was good. I downloaded Audacity which is a free recording software so hopefully I can get some audio stuff up soon. After strumming on the C & G7 chords, I moved on to D and A7. Worked on the chord transition for that as it's a tough one. I've probably got a few nights of practice on just that but at least that will exercise the coordination a bit.

Simple G7 and C chords & Skip To My Lou

Ahh the beginner lessons. Strummin along to Skip To My Lou with simple C and G7 transitions. Gotta work on fine tuning my fat finger positions. It's coming along though. 30 minutes more on this and then on to the next one.

Preppin the mind for that first surf

Ok, I felt like a lazy-arse with my good friend fixing up Belle in preparation for our Dead weekend in May so I've got 47 days to learn a few chords and Noodle with the best of them. I'm in mental prep mode this morning. Tonight begins a photo of the guitar, an Ibanez PF5-LNT, string check and tuning. Then an install of my guitar software and a solid hour of practice. Stay with it brain!
