No guitar yet but I found my guitar method cd! Happy Friday

It's Friday. You know what time it is? Time to work more! YAY! No guitar so far for me but I did take a break to try a free computer game called Alien Swarm. It's a squad-based top-down shooter available on Steam. Very fun game for the casual gamer. I also was digging through my desk drawers and found my Guitar Method software disc. That gets me a step closer to practicing. Going to install this weekend and at least get a couple practices in.

Happy Friday to all and have a great weekend!

This blog died right after the Dead weekend. What the hell happened?

Not quite sure what happened there. I went to a Dead show back in 2009 and all the sudden I have no hobbies. I started my own business. I had a baby. I am getting more into politics by listening to AM talk radio. I don't smoke my cigars. I bought a fishing license but haven't fished. I got my first IT certification and working on more. I put new strings on my guitar but haven't played. Good mixed with 'aww man' in a blender of life. Chill in 90-degree weather, slowly pour into my brain and enjoy!

I did actually want to use this for my guitar adventures but somewhere along the way the rest of life happened. All good things (and a few bumps in the road) of course but being a guy who needs to 'fire gaze', I need to get back to those hobbies from time to time. I am hoping this week can begin a turning point for that. I have all but given up on computer gaming which for anyone that knows me was a biggie. I still go in and play from time to time but I think I have mentally shut down from that aspect of my life. Chalk it up to getting older I guess and the fact that I have one amazing one-year old to come home and 'wrastle' with.

Karene is getting back to something that she loved to do so I should probably do the same. I'll see if I can begin tonight with a lesson. More to follow...

No more cold but now a rash?

So I finally finish up whatever cold/flu I had after 3.5 weeks and then I break out in a rash! Apparently I had an allergic reaction to something. Still yet to figure out what it was. Now that we are done with that, I finished up the tile work in the kitchen. Still need to acid wash the dining room floor this week to clean the grout and then grout the patio door line and seal everything. Here's some pics of the new tile in the kitchen and entryway. One project down and the carpet project is next on the list. That to be done this coming weekend. Then I can finally relax for a bit and just in time for the Dead weekend coming up!

Hooray! Finally better!

Only took about 10 days but I'm finally out of it! Back to guitar practice, home projects and work! What a relief!

Almost out of this sick, cold, flu, blah whatever it is

Nearly a week and finally I think I'm coming out of this cold. Hopefully getting back to projects and practice this weekend. What a lazy week it's been. More to come.

Floor demo work, gettin sick, and where's the time goin!?

Well it's one project after another but it finally caught up with me. Started demoing the kitchen floor which has been a nightmare. I did manage to buy my own birthday present in the process though. I've really wanted a Dremel kit for a long time and the low profile wood cuts I needed to make suited the Dremel just fine. All was going well until bam! Got sick on Saturday and here it is Wednesday, still sick. Ah well, I'm crammin down soup, vitamin C, fruit and anything else healthy to pull out of this. More demo work this weekend in preparation for the Tile to go in. 3 more weeks and we'll have a normal house again! As for the guitar practice, it's been slow going this week as I've been hitting the pillow early every day. Hoping to get back to it this weekend after this cold blows over.

A7, D, C, G, G7 practice

After a tough weekend of tilling our garden, I took Sunday to relax with some margaritas, do the initial setup of the micro-irrigation system, and then finally get a solid hour of practice in. I continue to work on A7 & D chord transitions and moved on to two other songs that incorporated G, G7, and C transitions to mix things up a bit. Coming along pretty well so far. I need to order a professional mic for some better recording capabilities and then I'll have some audio up. More practice this week and lamaze on Thursday.
